This era was defined by craftsmanship, experience, and the highest level of precision—forming the bridge between traditional typesetting and the digital workflow.
From Original Artwork to Color Separation Technology (CMYK)
A single image is transformed into four individual color channels in modern printing: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. This color separation process became the foundation of industrial offset printing in the 20th century. Only through the precise interaction of these four colors is the final vibrant result created—a major milestone in the evolution from traditional craftsmanship to industrial-scale color production.
From Negatives to Digital Image Processing
In the past, printing originals were created in photographic laboratories using film, developing chemicals, and a great deal of expertise. Desktop Publishing – The Revolution on the Screen
Mit Programmen wie InDesign & Co. verlagerte sich die Gestaltung vollständig auf den Bildschirm. Layout, Typografie und Bildbearbeitung wurden digital kombiniert.
